Major / Minor Fair Major / Minor Fair
First-year students seeking more information about their intended major and/or possible minor are invited to attend the Major / Minor fair on Wednesday, October 10, 6 – 7:30 pm in The Great Hall. Information will also be available about the Summer 2013 Study Abroad classes through Arcadia University. The Locks Career Center staff will be on hand to share resources and provide information about part-time seasonal opportunities for interested students. The evening includes food and the chance to meet alumnae as well as talk with faculty and staff about your academic and career goals.

Opening Reception and Studio Conversations Opening Reception and Studio Conversations
Join us on October 12, 5–7 pm to celebrate the opening of three new exhibitions in The Galleries at Moore – Shizu Saldamando: All Tomorrow’s Parties, Deb Sokolow: All Your Vulnerabilities Will Be Assessed and Emma Salamon: Vanitas. The reception will be followed at 7 pm with Studio Conversations: Diana Al-Hadid and Greg Volk in Stewart Auditorium. The annual Studio Conversations, presented by Moore, features leading artists and critics who discuss artistic issues and practice across media and international boundaries.

Fellowship Presentations Fellowship Presentations
The 2012 Leadership, Travel and Internship Fellowship recipients will give presentations on their summer experiences traveling from California to China, and everywhere in between on October 15, 16, 29 and 30, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm in the McCullough Media Room. Five of the 12 students presenting received the first Penny Fox Internship Fellowships. Funded by a generous gift from Penny Fox, Chair Emerita of Moore’s Board of Trustees, and her husband Bob, the competitive Fellowships provide an additional $3,000 to each student for their internship experience.

VWA Zeidman Lecture VWA Zeidman Lecture
Moore College of Art & Design will present its 2012 Visionary Woman Award to interior designer Victoria Hagan and graphic designer, writer, curator and critic Ellen Lupton on October 18, 6 – 9 pm. The Elizabeth Greenfield Zeidman Lecture featuring the two honorees will be held earlier that day at 2 pm in Stewart Auditorium. The moderated lecture is free and open to the public.

The Art Shop Turns 10! The Art Shop Turns 10!
Come celebrate The Art Shop’s 10th birthday on October 25. Stop by The Art Shop 11 am – 8 pm for a free cupcake and a usable Happy Birthday Card, while viewing the creative window display, Now, We Are 10, by Moore alumna Aubrie Costello ’07. Meet the students who work at The Art Shop and alumnae who sell their work there from 6 – 8 pm. Additional activities are planned throughout the academic year to mark this exciting milestone.
